VISA SRI LANKA

You can apply for a visa at the website www.eta.gov.lk. Only use this website!!! The costs for a tourist visa for 30 days is right now USD 50.- per person. You passport should be valid more thatn six months at the entry to Sri Lanka.  You need to have a valid flight ticket when doing the application and you need to give information about your first stay in Sri Lanka.  

Time SRI LANKA

In the European winter time the time is plus 4 1/2 hours in Sri Lanka and in the summer time 3 1/2 hours in comparison to Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Sri Lanka has the so called “Indian Standard Time (IST)”.

Money SRI LANKA

The official currency is called Rupies (RS). The Rupie is devided in 100 cent. Normally you can use cash in Sri Lanka. In bigger shops and hotels you can also use debit and credit cards. There are ATMs all over the country to take out cash. Often you can also use USD, EURO or CHF to pay, mostly in the tourist areas. 

Health SRI LANKA

In 2015 the World Health Organisation declared Sri Lanka as a Malaria free country. It is recommended to protect yourself agains mosquitoe bites, as there is still a risk to get denguee. If you get fever in Sri Lanka, you should go and check your blood. The following injections are recommended before entering the country

  • Hepatitis

  • Rabies
  • Japanese Enzephalitis

Pandemic SRI LANKA

In the Autumn of 2022 you can travel safely to Sri Lanka. If you have a double vaccine or if you have no vaccine you can arrive to Sri Lanka. You should then bring a PCR test from your country now older than 72 hours when entering Sri Lanka.
